You Can Now Help Australia’s Bushfire Victims With Funko Pop Vinyl Figure

Spread the love

Funko Pops are everywhere and you can get a Funko Pop for nearly any character or person you’re a fan of. From Breaking Bad to Star Wars to Marvel and DC superheroes there’s something for everyone.

It may come as no surprise then that the big-headed vinyl toys will now be immortalizing Australian Firefighters in a new “Bushfire Heroes” figure.

Funko using their pop-culture powers for good is nothing new as they regularly donate to charity and give Pop Figures to charities to raise funds.

Funko is collaborating with Australian based PopCultcha for the limited edition Pop! Firefighter with Koala vinyl figure to help injured and displaced animals who have suffered as a result of the Australia fires.

The limited-edition figures that come complete with a koala latched onto the firefighter’s leg will retail for $19.99 in Australian dollars.

You can order them from PopCultcha and have them shipped to the United States for an extra shipping fee.

All proceeds from the “Bushfire Heroes” figure will go toward the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ National Bushfire Appeal.

“The RSPCA is working alongside government and emergency agencies, veterinarians and local authorities to provide much-needed equipment and supplies, emergency care and identifying and assessing injured animals in need of assistance,” Funko’s Jesse Little wrote in the announcement.

If you just want to help in the Australian wildfire and wildlife relief efforts but don’t want the sad firefight with koala vinyl figure you can also donate directly to the RSPCA on their website.

Experts estimate over one billion animals have been killed in Australia’s unprecedented bushfires, with more injured and facing starvation due to the destruction of their habitat.

“Once the active fire zones clear, that’s when our most challenging work begins,” wrote the RSPCA. “Our work will continue for months after the fires have ceased.”

The item will be sold exclusively on PopCultcha.com.au and is currently in pre-orders with delivery expected to be in June of this year.
